I didn't want to leave....

This! This is what I didn't want to leave this morning. :[ Yes  that right my lovely, delicious, toasty warm bed.  Its one of the most beautiful places in the world I  believe. You dream in it (literally and figuratively) ,read in it, lounge in it, sleep in it, chat to  sisters in their beds from the comfort of your own, and pray.

Not my bed. But, I can dream right?!

I love my bed and I hate leaving it on a cold , frosty morning. :[  At least I'll see it tonight!!!

More fun!!!

Okay so  I found this on Miriam's blog: Thoughts of a Shieldmaiden. (Who is an amazing writer/blogger by the way. ) And it looked fun so I stole it!!!! :D

1) What is the flight velocity of an unladen sparrow? Its lifes greatest mystery. For centuries wise men and women have sat staring at sparrows pondering this all to important question.
2) What’s a book you’ve been dying to read but have never found the time to pick up? One?! Just one?? Oh my gosh this is hard!!! I have a stack beside my bed and you want me to choose one???!?!?!?!?!!!!!!  Um...........  I have it!!!!!! The Emporer of Ni Hon Ja by john Flanagan!!!!  That would be topity tops I beleive. :)
3) Favorite TV show past or present? Gossip Girl !!!!!!  I know my goodness my secret is out.  I like Gossip Girl. Although my family does not share this love of mine we do bond over Fawlty Towers. :D
4) Least favorite TV show past or present?  I Dream of Jeanie!!!! Hate it!!!!!!!  Boring and sooooo preduictable.
5) If aliens abducted us all and Twilight was the last book written in a human language, would you preserve it for future generations? Hmmmmm, probably. I'm a sucker for memories and last time doing  things. :)
6) Narnia or LOTR (books, not movies)?  For Narnia and for Aslan!!!!!!!! Do not tell me LOTR's is better it just isn't. Plus it doesn't have fauns or Lions that talk. :)
7) Favorite Pixar film?  Toy Story 3. :)   I love all the Toy story movies. But this one is just full of sweetness.  And Ken and Barbie. :D
8) Do you have a particular proclivity for pyrotechnics?  No, not really though I must admit they do look quiet spectacular at night.
9) Should she marry Kokoum?  No! No!No! No! And again No!!!! Kokoum is as Annie Oakley would say "a swollen headed stiff." I dislike Kokoum very much.
10) Boba Fett or Jango Fett?  Jango Fett. His fighting skills are way cooler . And he has so much more cool gadgets. And his suit is much shinier and cooler.
11) If two witches are watching two watches, which witch would watch which watch? Well, the first witch would watch the watch to the right which is purple. Because she likes purple. And the second witch would watch the second watch because the other witch is her older sister .And she said if she didn't watch the non purple one she'd burn her broom! And the second witch doesn't really do violence so all is saticfactory with the watch watching witches. :D

I like answering random fun question. Just in case you where wondering. :)

The Unsinkable!

If you're like me you love a good story, I mean who honestly doesn't?!   The thrill of excitement as you get to a crucial bit in said story, the moment of sadness when a character is  dead or dying.   But , again  if you are like me  you love reading stories about real events. Biography's , novels , they are amazing!!!!    My absolute favourite real life incident to have stories based off is "The Titanic."
Those stories are always amazing, they can be about people from any background but they always end in the climax of : the sinking on   April 15th 1912 "The Unsinkable Titanic" did what many people boasted she wouldn't: She sunk.    My favourite book about the Titanic is  "Voyage on the Great Titanic: The Diary of Margaret Ann Brady, RMS Titanic, 1912 by Ellen Emerson White"
Its awesome a young girl from London England sails as the companion of a rich lady , she is an orphan and is going to America to join her brother there. And this book has everything!    Desperation, distinction between classes and what that entails, friends  who will never see each other again and the sweetest most beautiful sad and gorgeous ending ever!!!! Which I'm not going to tell you as I command you to go and buy/beg/borrow or steal a copy.   Okay I'm not all that heartless here is  Wikipedia's review on it SPOILERS ALERT!

"The story begins in London, England, where a thirteen year old girl, Margaret Ann Brady, is keeping a diary. She explains that her parents died and her brother emigrated to America leaving her in the care of an orphanage. The orphanage receives a request for a travelling companion to accompany Mrs. Carstairs on the RMS Titanic.
The beginning of the trip goes more than smoothly. Margaret meets a handsome young steward, Robert, and befriends him. She thoroughly enjoys the trip, describing how big the Titanic is, and the luxuries of living on it. She has grand meals, and even shares one with some of the most important crew of the Titanic. But the ship crashes into an iceberg and starts to sink slowly. Mrs. Carstairs escapes to safety on a lifeboat, and tells Margaret that they will meet up again soon.
Margaret rushes down the ship and looks for Robert. More and more lifeboats are leaving, but she figures there will be more. Finally, she finds Robert. They chat and share a tender moment. Then they kiss. Margaret pleads for Robert to come with her to safety, but Robert declines stating he cannot leave his fellow stewards.
Once back on top deck, Margaret leaves on the last lifeboat and is the last to board. She and her fellow passengers watch in horror as the grand ship sinks. They hear the cries of the dead as they move on, rescuing a few people from the cold waters. She says that she could not forget the screams of the dead going down with the ship. She also states that she will not forgive herself for letting Robert go, nor for surviving the Titanic.
In New York, Margaret says farewell to Mrs. Carstairs and finds William. They travel to his home in Boston and the story ends. "
And once again if you are like me you are extremely excited that next month is a hundred years since the sinking of "The Unsinkable Titanic"   Do you have a favourite event in history that you enjoy reading about?
Toodles!

Things I love : Swings!!!!!

One of the things I love the most is swinging. :]  I've always loved them and I think I always will, my Mummy still goes on them. :D
There is no right words to describe the feeling you get when swinging.  Excited and Joyful don't quite cut it.  Its both those and more, its a Thrilling Adventure, and (most importantly) a Journey in Poetry and Song.
Because very time I go on a swing I feel like singing, songs I've heard , songs that just pop into my head while swinging or I begin having poetry float about my head. Especially this old poem by Robert Louis Stevenson       "The Swing"

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
                                      Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
                                         Over the countryside--

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown--
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

"Skyscraper"

I sooooo love this song!  "Skyscraper"  for me is a song about even when you feel broken , worn or just plain awful to stand tall ,be you and be proud of being you and what you have overcome.
In the past year Demi Lovato has overcome quite a few issues which have been challenging her for most of her life. She decided to do something about it and with help has become a much happier and more confident person.  For me she is inspirational, if a celebrity , who has millions of people watching their each move can accept and overcome their problems, and then tell those millions what they are , surely I one person can accept my problems and overcome them? No matter how small they are or seem to be.

This song is one of 18 songs I have made a playlist of and put on my Mp4 player.   I called the playlist  the  "Happy playlist" and its a collection of songs which I find inspirational , and encouraging.  For me to listen to when I feel down.   And this one is like in the top 5 of that playlist that get played all the time. In fact its number 1.

What do you think? Do you like this song? Do you have a song that you listen to to encourage you?

To All My Readers..... These are for you all.

Being of Irish descent I love Irish blessings. Here are some of my favourites which I give to you darling readers of my blog.

May :
you have:
A world of wishes at your command.
God and his angels close to hand.
Friends and family their love impart,
and Irish blessings in your heart!

May :
your doctor never earn a dollar out of you,
May your heart never give out,
May the ten toes of your feet steer you clear of misfortune.
And before you're much older,
May you hear much better blessings than this.

May:
flowers always line your path
And sunshine light your day
May songbirds serenade you
Every step along the way
May a rainbow run beside you
In a sky that’s always blue
And may happiness fill your heart
Each day your whole life through

May :
your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks
May your heart be as light as a song
May each day bring you bright, happy hours
That stay with you all the year long

May:
the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

May:
your neighbors respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And heaven accept you.

Look you even saw a leprechaun.

71 Years of The Wizard of Oz!!!!!!!!

Hooray ! Today it is 71 years since The Wizard of Oz came out!!!! The year it came out my grandfather would have been 7 years old. pretty cool huh? I love this movie a ton. If I was ever offered the part of Dorothy I would roll cartwheels with joy. Judy Garland is just superb in this roll . And am I the only girl who wants ruby slippers? I would totally love to have the Dorothy outfit, including the basket and Toto. Any way here are some pictures of that astounding film,
"The Wizard of Oz!'

In case you were wondering I am a nut for this movie.

Camp Rock!!!!!!

We recently watched Camp Rock for the first time recently, after I had wanted to watch it for ages. And it is now one of my favorite movies. It has some fantastic songs , a great cast of characters , and a wonderful sweet story which we as a family thoroughly enjoyed.

Here is a rough rundown from Wikipedia.
The story follows Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato), an aspiring young musician who is hoping to become a professional singer. Mitchie wants to go to a music camp named "Camp Rock". Since the family can't afford the tuition, Mitchie's mother arranges to cater food for the camp, thus allowing Mitchie to attend. Mitchie tries to conceal this from her friends at camp. She is shy to sing in front of people. Spoiled brat/pop star Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) has been assigned to be in charge of dance classes for one month at Camp Rock by his bandmates Jason (Kevin Jonas) and Nate (Nick Jonas). Shane hears Mitchie singing and falls in love with the voice, but does not know the identity of the singer. Shane spends much of the film searching for the girl with the voice. Shane and Mitchie have various interactions, and, when Shane learns her identity, a romance between the two blossoms.
Although Mitchie and Shane do end up together they don't kiss or anything but hold hands ,which will be good for those who hate movies with kissing.
I found very enjoyable and thoroughly recommend it.
